Down By The River is a poetry chapbook that meditates and reflects on the relationships between four generations of my family. A family whose path begins in northern China, leads into the heartland of the United States, and settles by the Atlantic Ocean. It questions what it means to be American, and negotiates cultural heritage at the intersection of inherited scars.
